Mathematical Problem-Solving Processes and Performance: Translation Among Symbolic Representations
Authors:
Noreen M. Webb, Karen Gold, and Sen Qi
We collected information about students’ performance on math problems varying in symbolic form and the kinds of symbolic representations and translation used in instruction. This study presents several implications for research and practice in mathematics education and testing.
